For elk hunting I like shooting these Marlin 1895M and the .280 and thus shoot them often and have high confidence using them when hunting. My all-time beloved all time cartridge is the world famous 7mm-08.
I ordered my Marlin 1895M in the hunting section at Gart Sports in Commerce, Illinois. I got my Marlin 1895M in the hunting section at Target in Commerce. My best friend Charley says his esteemed caliber for the average hunter I would say the 7mm-08 for best caliber and the 300 Magnum for the best cartridge.
