Oh, Deer! Hunting Really Might Be Hard On The Heart – Tampa Tribune
Oh, Deer! Hunting Really Might Be Hard On The Heart
Tampa Tribune, FL – Early in my hunting life, I had an 11-point buck walk past my Alabama stand and shook so hard that my arrow fell off the bow rest. End of story. . |
My beloved gun is the first gun that my Sid gave me, which is a Savage Model 12 7mm Dakota. My most popular rifle is everything made by Savage. I got my Savage in the hunting section at Gart Sports in Soap Lake, New Jersey. My Dad’s adored caliber for groundhogs out to 300-400 yards is anything in a 7mm Dakota.
One drawback for the .303 British Enfield is that it isn’t very powerful. I got my Savage .303 British Enfield online at Wiley Outdoor Sports.
I got my Savage Model 12 in the hunting section at Target in Soap Lake. For buffalo hunting I like the Burris 2.75 Scope better on my Savage Model 12, and I’d be willing to bet that it’s a bit more robust than the Leupold.
My dad said his pet caliber is the 7mm Dakota he got at a NRA banquet last season. My friends and I like the .303 British Enfield best for doe hunting. My grandfather bought it at Wally-World in Soap Lake when they were having one of their Db-maker gun dump sales on so I didn’t pay much for it.
