My Mom’s especial caliber for me is the 300 Winchester magnum because it has the best combo of power and speed to make it the most versatile for the different types of game in Illinois. I bought it at a store in Terrytown.
The best all around caliber I own is probably the 300 Browning magnum from Target in Terrytown. For wapiti hunting I like leupold the best and Nikon and Burris are tied for 2nd on my H&R 25-06 rifles.
My main rifle is everything made by Ruger. I got my Winchester 300 Ruger magnum last fall at Target in Terrytown. My second number one caliber is a tossup between the 300 Winchester magnum and 25-06. There is a new edition of my new Ruger Buckmark with the sugar maple chambered in 25-06 and 300 Ruger magnum.
