A minor problem with shooting a ported 256 Win Mag barrel is the increase in muzzle blast. My grandfather bought it at wal mart in Panhandle in march of this year and it works good. My Dad’s prized caliber for groundhogs out to 300-400 yards is anything in a 256 Win Mag. There is a new edition of my new Ruger Frontier with the maple chambered in 7.32 x 39 and 256 Win Mag.
