A minor problem is that adding a Bastogne walnut stock does increase the weight of the Ruger. My brother’s number one hunting rifle is my Ruger Model 44 Carbine 222 Rem Magnum with a Bastogne walnut stock. I like the Ruger Model 44 Carbine in 7mm Mag.
